This article sheds light on the problems with international laws in regard to climate change refugees. Displacement crises around the world are causing people from one country to be driven out, seeking refuge in a neighboring country. Domestic issues are becoming international dangers to society, and without a proper regulatory system or framework countries have no guidelines on how to effectively address these issues. In discussions about climate change, particularly at international conferences such as the recent meetings in Warsaw, policy leaders and environmentalists alike will need to come together and provide realistic solutions. It is imperative that countries strengthen their environmental laws by including responses to the issue of climate refugees. In the midst of international disasters, such as the typhoon in the Philippines, countries must come together to establish policies for implementing plans for displaced populations. By restructuring international law, countries can set precedents for dealing with these problems, which unfortunately will not be going away any time soon.
